I am the mother of 5 children and am interested in purchasing a 12 or 15 passenger van (primarily to accommodate my swim team car-pool). I have looked at some used "conversion" vans which have been converted or upgraded with leather seats, heated driver/passenger seats, back up camera, running boards, paint detailing, DVD player/game system, etc. How do I accurately know what a good asking price is for a used vehicle with all those upgrades?
Also, are 15 passenger vans safer than they were 5-10 years ago?
I have looked at 12 passenger vans but they don't have the cargo space a 15 passenger van has if you take out the back row.
I don't have any experience with such a large van, but you may find information regarding them on http://www.epinions.com/ this is a general consumer review site where folks tell their experiences with various products - including cars, trucks and vans.
You could also look on consumerreports.com to see if they have any information about conversion vans.
Please remember that any used vehicle needs to have a thorough used car inspection done by a professional auto technician before you purchase it. Each vehicle needs looked over and accessed by the current condition it is in. Year and price does not matter. I have seen very expensive vehicles that we tell our customers not to buy, and I have seen very inexpensive vehicles we tell our customers would make a good deal, and "everything" in between.
