Sounds like you may need to change the oil. There is a light that kicks on when your mileage interval is due. You may have gone to a quick lube that failed to reset that light, check in your owner's manual for procedures.

First, check your owner's manual to make sure this is the check engine light that is on. A lot of manufacturer's, including Ford, are adding a change oil light that is often confused with the check engine light. If this is indeed the check engine light, I would suggest bringing the vehicle to a Ford dealership where they can scan for codes using a Ford specific scan tool.
