My engine sounds like it is struggling to run. I want to take the car to the Toyota dealer to have it checked out. I am planning a long road trip and I want to know that every thing in running up to he fullest potential. The thing is I do not know what the name of the service I need is. Is it a tune up or a diagnostic. I Want everything checked including fuses and tire pressure and wipers. Please tell me what service to ask for, and is the work and repairs under warranty?
original factory warranty is 3 years or 36,000 miles. If you have exceeded that time/mileage interval and have purchased an extended warranty, depending on the type of plan you purchased, you may have some of those components covered. Preventive maintenance on wear and tear items are not covered by any extended warranty such as; filters, fluids belts and brake pads..etc.
You can ask your service provider for an oil change service, and they should provide you with a full inspection of the vehicle for free and should by standard, check the air pressure and condition of wipers and fluids. Most places require a brake inspection fee, and take that inspection fee off of the repair price.
Fuses do not need to be checked/or replaced unless there is a component that is not working.
