I am trying to buy a new car. The dealership has been screwing me around for 3 days. When I finally went in last night they told me I had no credit score and they had a used car picked out for me because they said I was only approved for a certain amount. I even have a trade in. I am not comfortable with them picking my car out and they never really gave me any straight answers. What should I do??

First, let me say that when a dealership takes your information to pull your credit you have many criteria to meet in order for a lender to accept your request for a loan. Some of the criteria might be length of time on the job, proof of residency, mortgage payments, salary history, a history of timely payments on credit cards, etc. They will exhaust every possibility in helping you finance a car before they turn you away.
One reason why it may have taken them 3 days to get back to you is because they were presenting your credit history to many lenders. When a dealership does that, they are at the mercy of the lender as they may have to wait several days, and in some cases, even up to a week or more for a response.
I can guarantee you that the dealership wants to earn your business and is anxious for you to drive away in your new vehicle, but remember as I said before; you have many stipulations to meet in order for them to do so.

You did not mention if you were a "first time buyer"... do you credit established yet? Do you have a full time job for over one year and do you earn over $1,500.00 per month? How long have you lived at your residence? How much money are you willing to put down other than you trade in? Try going to any bank and ask them to provide financing.
