I have a 1993 Mazda 626Lx with 165,000 miles. It has a 2.0L engine and automatic transmission. When the engine warms up and I am at a stoplight the engine will speed up and go down,at times it feels like the engine is cutting out.Do you have any advice for this.
I'm surprised that you're not getting a check engine light coming on.
There are many possible reasons for this such as a fuel problem, EGR, maybe the throttle position sensor...but that would set a code most likely.
I would suggest that you have a technician take it out for a test drive with you so that they can see what it's doing.
This problem is best diagnosed by having someone actually look at the vehicle.
