A couple quick things you can check is to make sure that if you have an overdrive button, that you didn't switch it off accidentally. This will keep you from going into overdrive. Look in your owner's manual for an explanation on this.
You can also find the section in the book that tells you how to check the fluid level.
If both of those are good, then you will need to take your vehicle to a certified shop or dealership to get a diagnosis.
