Amy Mattinat, Owner and Author at Auto Craftsmen Ltd Dear Lori, Volvo’s do have the reputation for going the long haul in mileage. So, 140,000 miles does not scare me. But…The only way to find out if this Volvo is worthy of $1800 and will be safe and reliable is to take it to a professional mechanic to have them do a Used Car Inspection on it. You just can’t tell if an automobile is in good shape by looking at it. I’ve seen inexpensive cars that would make a great car to own, and I’ve seen very expensive cars that I tell my customers to RUN from, and everything in-between. Since your trusted mechanic is no longer working close to you, ask around to find another trusted mechanic that you can take the Volvo to for it’s Used Car Inspection. Best of Luck, Amy Mattinat
