how much does it cost for a compressor to me replaced in a 98 ford mustang

Answers from the Automotive Experts

Amy Mattinat, Owner and Author at Auto Craftsmen Ltd Michelle, If I was you I would find an A/C specialist and ask them to check to make sure it is the compressor and not just a small leak, and to quote you on the parts and labor. All My Best, Amy Mattinat

Lori Johnson, Owner and Instructor at Ladies Start Your Engines Dear Michelle, You are probably looking at at least $350 or more for the compressor, then it's about an hour of install time. Add to that the charge to evacuate and re-charge the system, which could be a half hour or so. A friend recently had a compressor replaced on their Honda, the cost was over $800. The other issue is if the compressor did any damage to any of the other parts of the a/c system, this could cost even more if you have to replace other parts. Hope this helps. Lori Johnson
