My faithful *86 Toyota Camry hatchback finally threw in the towel (alternator gave out, and a couple of other problems). It*s not running, and due to its age I*ve been trying to find a charity that*s willing to accept it for salvage but haven*t had any success. Do you have any suggestions for what*s the best way for me to dispose of the car?

Patty Streeter, at AskPatty.com You can sell it to a local auto salvage yard, although they will not give you much. You can also try calling some independent repair shops in your area that specialize in Toyota's, they might be interested in buying the car for parts or to fix and resell. Cars4Causes is a reputable car donation company I can recommend to contact about your vehicle: http://www.cars4causes.net/how-to-donate.asp The vehicle does not have to be running in order for Cars4Causes to accept your donation, however, they do prefer the vehicle to be intact. Occasionally, they will make an exception depending on the year, make and model of the vehicle.
