I have been told that my 1998 Ford Escort needs a new car engine. Could you please give me advise on whether I should replace engine or should I just junk the car. What would be the most economical thing to do? Thanks for having this website. Shari

Patty Streeter, at AskPatty.com Shari, Repair is usually less expensive than replacing a vehicle. Take into consideration the overall condition of the vehicle and what other repairs might be needed in the near future, then you can make a good decision on whether to repair or replace the vehicle. You can get quotes on repair costs from an ASE certified technician to know the possible costs.
