We have 2002 Chrysler Sebring. The heater and defroster blows only cold air, until it reaches a certain speed on the highway. My daughter replaced the radiator cap and it all worked again for a short time but now is back to doing the same thing. I know it is losing water and antifreeze as I have to replace it almost every trip to town I make. If I keep a close watch, I can see it drip water on the driveway after I park it, but not as much as I replace.
Can you tell me what I need to do or ask for when talking to a mechanic. Or what price range the repair will be?
When you take the vehicle in for diagnosis, just describe the problem you are having and allow them to diagnose the problem. Try not to diagnose a problem as it will tend to make a technician look in one place for the problem. Just tell them that Your vehicle is losing coolant and the heater does not operate properly and you know there is a leak as you have seen it in the ground under the vehicle. As for cost of repair that will depend on the problem.
Take it to an authorized Chrysler dealership for diagnosis as they know this vehicle and the how to solve the problem best.
