While out and about tonight my turn signal (shifter) just broke. At least it is not tight in the column. Is this a fairly easy fix on a Chevy Corsica or is just cheaper to take it in to be fixed? Approximate cost/time for repair??

Amy Mattinat, Owner and Author at Auto Craftsmen Ltd Hi Connie, Depending on what is wrong, your whole steering column may have to be torn apart and it may take a couple of hours to fix and cost around $200-250.00. But to really know, you need to take it to a trained mechanic for a diagnosis. Good Luck, Amy Mattinat

Patty Streeter, at AskPatty.com Connie, The steering wheel must be removed for this repair, and a professional should do this repair. We can't quote you what the repairs would be for your vehicle or situation but the approximate cost could be between $200 and $250, depending on area labor rates and if the vehicle has a tilt steering wheel. Of course, the figures could vary greatly depending on different factors with your vehicle. I would suggest you take it to an ASE certified technician in your area to get it checked out.
