I have a 2002 Passat. Recently, after a heavy rain, there was substantial flooding in the floor on the driver's side. None of the electrical buttons worked, the hazard lights were frozen on, and no matter how much we mopped out the water, there would be another inch of it within an hour. Apparently, water came through the pollen filter seal into the car because the drains were clogged with leaves. Have you ever heard of this problem? We have always had our car maintained at the VW dealership, but they say the leaves are an external influence and so it's not covered by the warranty.

Jamey Wozniak, Owner and CEO at Joe's Hitch, Trailer & Truck Accessories This not that uncommon and can happen if leaves plug the drains. Its more common on much older cars. Now that you are were you are - I suggest you have the dealer handle electrical issues like this to maintain your warranty.
